Dr. Mohamed Azab is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer and Information Sciences.

He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Engineering in 2013 from The Bradley Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Virginia Tech, USA.

Supported by multiple external funding and research grants, Dr. Azab holds multiple provisional patents and has contributed to several book chapters, along with numerous publications in archival journals and respected conference proceedings.

His research interests focus on cybersecurity and trustworthy engineering, covering a range from theory to design and implementation. His recent work spans areas such as Software Defined Networking (SDN) architectures and protocols, high-performance and cloud computing, ubiquitous Internet of Things (IoT), and Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS).

Dr. Azab is the founder of the Cybersecurity and IoT Lab, which supports the research activities of his Ph.D. and Master’s students.

He has been a keynote speaker at several prestigious conferences and has served on various programs and steering committees for conferences and workshops.
