Captain Marcos Alejandro is an Associate Professor of Aerospace Studies, Recruiting Officer, and Assistant Operations Flight Commander at the Virginia Military Institute, Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) Detachment 880 in Lexington, Virgina. In this role, he ensures recruiting and accession standards are maintained, and instructs and develops AFROTC program cadets across four college campuses, creating future leaders of character for the United States Air Force and United States Space Force.

Captain Alejandro enlisted in the United States Air Force in October 2012. His enlisted background includes various duties in the TACP career field, supporting Army armored and infantry units from the Company up to Division echelons. Lieutenant Alejandro earned his commission via Officer Training School in 2022. He has multiple overseas tours in South Korea, Kuwait, Iraq, and Poland in support of operations such as Inherent Resolve and Atlantic Resolve. Prior to his current assignment, Lieutenant Alejandro served as an Assistant Flight Commander at the 13th Air Support Operations Squadron, Fort Carson, Colorado.
