Captain Jared A. Crosby is an Associate Professor of Aerospace Studies at the Virginia Military Institute, Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC), Detachment 880, in Lexington, VA. He is responsible for the teaching, leadership, and development of AFROTC program cadets across four college campuses creating future leaders of character for the U.S. Air Force and Space Force.
Captain Crosby was born in Savannah, GA and enlisted in the United States Air Force in May of 2007. His enlisted background includes various duties in the security forces and nuclear weapons maintenance career fields. After commissioning via Officer Training School in 2017, Captain Crosby has served in various duties at the Squadron, Wing, and Headquarters Level. Additionally, he has deployed in support of multiple combat operations including Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom, and has completed overseas tours in Kuwait, Qatar, and Germany, in both the expeditionary Squadron and Combatant Command Headquarters levels. Prior to his current position, the Captain was the Operations Officer at the 82d Force Support Squadron, Sheppard AFB, TX.
