Position Overview

The Virginia Military Institute Infirmary is seeking a full-time, night-shift Registered Nurse. This is a salaried 10-month position with full state benefits. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Provide nursing services in a fast-paced student health clinic for 1,600 students.
  • Conduct initial patient assessments and monitor changes in condition.
  • Communicate with on-call medical providers as needed.
  • Administer medications and provide treatments as needed.
    • Must be able to start at the beginning of August 2026.
    • The hours are 7 pm – 7 am, including every other weekend. Most major holidays are off during the academic year.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be comfortable working independently within the scope of RN licensure.
  • Requires graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Excellent nursing assessment and communication skills.
  • Active and Unrestricted RN License in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
