The Stonewall Jackson House celebrates several events throughout each calendar year. Events include "Apple Day", "Lee-Jackson Day", and "Christmas with the Jacksons".

Lexington Museum Week
November 25-30

Celebrate an entire week of discoveries and discounts with all of your favorite Lexington museums! Visit three of five sites, get a free gift! Visit all five sites and get entered into a drawing for a gift basket!

Lexington museums are teaming up for Lexington Museum Week, an expansion of Museum Store Sunday (November 25). This year, the event includes Lee Chapel and Museum, the Stonewall Jackson House, George C. Marshall Museum, the Reeves Center at Washington and Lee, and the VMI Museum.

Participants in Lexington Museum Week use our “adventure cards” to record their visits throughout the week and receive discounts and prizes. Cards can be picked up at each of the five participating museum sites as well as at the pick-up locations of the Lexington Visitor Center and Rockbridge Regional Library.

By visiting three of five sites, visitors will receive a free prize at the third site. By visiting all five sites, visitors will be entered into a grand prize drawing, which will contain an extra-special gift from each of the five museums. The grand prize drawing will take place on the morning of Tuesday, December 4 and the winning participant will be contacted via phone to arrange a grand prize handoff!

The Lexington Museum Week adventure, along with its prize and discount opportunities, will conclude on Friday, November 30 at the end of the business day. Be sure to pick up your adventure cards – available beginning Monday, November 19 – and get adventuring!

Christmas at the Jacksons’
Tuesday, December 4, 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Visitors will step back in time and experience an 1859 Christmas while interacting with costumed interpreters. Those who attend will be a part of the “preparations” by decorating a Christmas tree with handmade gifts, churning butter or kneading dough in the kitchen, and helping our 1859 visitors pick the proper outfit for dinner.

Admission for the event is nonperishable food for humans and/or pets to benefit the Rockbridge Area Relief Association food pantry. Last year we collected 160 lbs. of food. Help us give back to our local community and come out for an evening of candlelit magic.
