Admissions Counselor (Part-Time)

The VMI Office of Admissions is seeking applications for the position of Admissions Counselor.

Basic Functions:

            The initial duties to be performed by Employee include, but are not limited to, making presentations concerning VMI and its programs at high school college programs, discussing admission requirements with prospective students, providing information about financial aid and scholarships to prospective students, and assisting prospective students and their parents with the admissions process.  Other responsibilities include giving tours of the VMI Post to prospective students and serving as a resource person to provide information to high school guidance counselors, students and parents.  Employee shall perform these duties to the best of Employee's ability and in accordance with the poli­cies, regula­tions, and directives duly established, promulgat­ed, or issued by Employer.  Employee's schedule shall be set by the Admissions Director. 

  • This is an hourly position, not to exceed 1500 hours. Evenings and weekends are required. 
  • $18.00 per hour
  • This is a temporary job that does not lead to full time employment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • The ability to speak with both large and small groups of people
  • Good interpersonal skills.
