1851 Photo of Jackson Magnet

Famous photographer Mathew Brady took the daguerreotype image of Major Thomas Jackson when Jackson was in New York in 1851.

Invented in 1839, daguerreotypes were the first photographic process available to the public; however, this process was nearly completely replaced by 1860. The location of this original daguerreotype photo is unknown today.
