LEXINGTON, Va. May 19, 2026 — The VMI Community Theatre will hold auditions for its summer show, “The Odd Couple,” female version, Monday, June 1; Tuesday, June 2; Wednesday, June 3; and Thursday, June 4 at 7:30 p.m. in Gillis Theater located in Marshall Hall on post. Cadets and community members may audition any of the four evenings. Six female roles and two male roles will be cast. Those interested in auditioning should come prepared to cold-read from the provided script. Stage crew members are also needed. No experience is necessary for either actors or stage crew.

Unger and Madison are at it again! Florence Unger and Olive Madison, that is, in the female version of Neil Simon’s hilarious contemporary comic classic, “The Odd Couple.” Ms. Madison has invited the girls over for an evening of “Trivial Pursuit.” The guys are replaced by the gals, and the Pidgeon sisters are replaced by the Costazuela brothers. It’s the show you know as you’ve never seen it before.

Performances of “The Odd Couple” are scheduled for Friday, July 24 and Saturday, July 25 at 7:30, and Sunday, July 26 at 2 p.m. in Gillis Theater. Rehearsals will be held Monday through Thursday 7:45-9 p.m., beginning June 8. Specific nights will be determined after casting.
