Summer Tuition and Fees
Summer 2026 tuition and fees are pending approval by the VMI Board of Visitors. Proposed amounts and dates will be indicated and a note will be posted here when dates and totals are finalized and approved.
NOTICE: Registration after the payment deadline (not due to cancelled courses) or reinstatement of classes due to missing the payment deadline will result in a $70 late registration fee.
- Payment for 2026 Summer Session I tuition, room, board and fees is due no later than May 14th at noon.
- Payment for 2026 Summer Session II tuition, room, board and fees is due no later than June 16th at noon.
VMI will not bill parents or students. The Cadet Accounting Office accepts payment for Summer Session tuition and fees by cash, check, E-check, or credit card (MasterCard, VISA, Discover, and American Express only). If a credit card is used, a 2.6% convenience fee will be assessed.

In accordance with the Senior Citizens Higher Education Act of 197s, qualifying senior citizens are exempt from tuition charges.

The auxiliary fee covers medical services and access to athletic facilities. All students attending the VMI Summer Session are assessed this fee.
The barracks security deposit shall be refunded without interest, less any amount for fines or damages, at the end of the session to all non-VMI cadets. VMI cadet deposits from the regular session will apply to the summer session and are refundable upon graduation or termination of the cadetship.
