Honor Societies Induct New Members

LEXINGTON, Va., April 26, 2016 – A number of Virginia Military Institute cadets were inducted into academic honor societies, and 21 cadets gave honors thesis presentations, during VMI Honors Week in mid-April. The purpose of Honors Week is to recognize and celebrate academic achievement across all departments and disciplines.

The following members of the class of 2019 were inducted into Phi Eta Sigma, the national freshman honor society:  Eric DeLoriea, Oladokun Ekundayo, Madden Chapman, Nathanael Bailey, Kevin Bishop, Adam Crum, Judson Haggard, John O’Donnell, Demetra Protogyrou, John Hatgas, Eleanor Hendren, Joel Thomas, Alec Hoopes, Meredith Jaroneski, Campbell Rutherford, Anthony Walton, Derek Wilson, Daniel Chisner, Colin Smith, Zachary Herring, Joshua Wolfe, Mason Worsham, George Hempt, Brian Hill, Kishan Patel, Clayton Penney, Quinn Conrad, Bryce Holden, William Reeves, Annika Tice, Colton Curry and Alexander Dedousis.

The Department of Psychology held an induction ceremony for Psi Chi, the international honor society for psychology, in January. Those inducted were Dewei Li ’17, Zachary Chase ’17, Kenton Clingman ’17, Andrew Crane ’17, Rachel Kroner ’17, Emily Marbury ’17, Benjamin Sternfeld ’17, Rachel Tanner ’17, Brandon White ’17, and Eric Wicks ’17.

The Department of Physics and Astronomy will hold an induction ceremony for Sigma Pi Sigma, the international honor society for physics, Monday, April 25. Those to be inducted are Eric J. Cedotal, Jr. ’18, Benjamin K. Johnson ’18, Reed H. Jones ’18, and Thomas Schmitt ’18.
