Choosing the U.S. Space Force

MISSION: Secure our nation’s interests in, from, and to space.

The United States Space Force (USSF) is the newest branch of the Armed Forces, established December 20, 2019. Air Force ROTC offers a direct pathway into the Space Force for cadets classified as a Space Operations Officer upon graduation. It is organized under the Department of the Air Force in a manner very similar to how the Marine Corps is organized under the Department of the Navy.

The U.S. Space Force protects our country and the freedom to operate in space, keeping it secure, stable and accessible for military space power and new waves of innovation.

The Space Force offers many officer career fields that each bring unique and vital contributions to the Space Force mission.
