There are three regular meetings of the Board each year. Specific dates for regular meetings are set by the Secretary of the Board upon consultation with, and the concurrence of, the President of the Board and the Superintendent. The Board’s last regular meeting of the academic year is designated as its Annual Meeting.
Special meetings of the Board may be called by the President of the Board, the Superintendent, by a majority vote of the Executive Committee, or by the request of a majority of the members of the Board.

UPDATED: The VMI Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee, whose membership includes more than two members of the VMI Board of Visitors, is conducting a meeting on 23 November 2020 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm, via video teleconference at the Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, Virginia. The committee meeting will be streamed live on this page.
The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee (an ad hoc committee of the VMI Board of Visitors) will receive public comments only on matters pertaining to the meeting between 2:10 pm to 2:30 pm, 23 November 2020. Individuals must pre-register and will need to provide the following information via email: name, email, phone number, VMI affiliation, (e.g. cadet, faculty member, employee, alumni, parent, or member of the public), and request for any reasonable accommodations. The deadline for pre-registration is Friday, 20 November 2020 by 4:00 pm. Please note in the subject line that you are registering to speak during the public comment. Should you have any interruption with the video broadcast of the meeting, please contact the VMI Communications and Marketing office at (540) 464-7207. Speakers will proceed in the order of pre-registration and should be dialed into the conference at 2:05 pm to facilitate meeting operations. A dial in teleconference number for public comment will be provided. Speakers will be limited to three (3) minutes apiece. Every effort will be made to accommodate all speakers within the time constraints of the meeting.
