Community Notification - VMI cadets will be participating in Spring Field Training Exercises (Spring FTX) Friday, March 31 through Tuesday, April 4. Trainings will occur throughout Rockbridge County, including the Goshen Boy Scout Camp, the Chessie Nature Trail, and on/around VMI post. There may be traffic delays in the area. Weapons training may also be heard.

VMI is accepting applications for part-time Weight Room Supervisors.

Candidates will oversee Cadet, Faculty, and Staff use of the new Cocke/King Hall weight rooms, aerobic equipment, and gym floor activities.

Weight Room Supervisors will work closely with the Physical Fitness Facility Manager to ensure equipment is being used properly and safely and that malfunctions are reported and tracked. They will be responsible for opening and securing the facility at published hours and for ensuring that only qualified users are permitted facility access.

The preferred candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree or have extensive recent experience working with college-age men and women in a sports or physical training program.

This is a Part-time hourly, 12-mo. position, maximum 1,500 hrs per yr, no benefits.

Work hours will be flexible with some weekend and evening work required.

Hourly wage based on qualifications and experience.

A criminal background check is required for all selected candidates.
