Principles of Marketing - Part-Time

The Department of Economics and Business at the Virginia Military Institute (VMI) invites applications for a faculty position starting August 2026. The successful candidate must demonstrate a commitment to teaching at the undergraduate level and have a desire to join an interdisciplinary department. They will be required to teach a class in Principles of Marketing and may have the opportunity to teach some Marketing electives.

The successful candidate must have excellent teaching and communication skills. The following are the requirements and responsibilities associated with the position:

  • Adjunct Instructor (Part-Time)
    Responsibilities: Teach a Principles of Marketing class and possibly other Marketing-related electives.
    Requirements: Candidates must have at least a Masters degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or at least 18 graduate hours in this or a closely related field, with professional certification (if applicable) and at least five years of work experience in the field.

VMI has approximately 1,450 students that reside on campus (called Post). Lexington, Virginia, with a population of approximately 7,000, is in the southern portion of the Shenandoah Valley and offers a stimulating cultural atmosphere in a rural setting. Washington and Lee University is located adjacent to VMI. Cadets wear uniforms and faculty observe military courtesies, but no prior military experience is required or expected.
