Store Clerk - Military Store (Male Fitter)

Virginia Military Institute is pleased to announce an open position for a Clerk in our Military Store. We are seeking male applicants to assist with measuring and fitting uniform items for all male cadets. This vital role ensures our Corps of Cadets uniforms are consistent and professional across all Cadet Companies.
Hiring Range: $32,500 (salary commensurate with experience)
Job Description:
The primary responsibility is to measure and fit uniform items for all cadets. Additional duties include delivering excellent customer service in the Military Store, processing sales and charge transactions, maintaining accurate inventory, and keeping thorough records as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Demonstrate basic training, relevant experience, and a solid understanding of clothing alterations, measurements, and garment fitting
- Ability to physically lift merchandise (up to 50lbs) to stock shelves and move inventory as needed
- >Knowledge of cash register/credit card operations, inventory procedures & basic mathematics is a plus
- Must be self-motivated, customer-oriented, possess excellent communication skills & enjoy working in a team atmosphere
- Valid motor vehicle driver’s license required
Additional Considerations:
- Experience in MS Windows – Excel, Word, Access preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
