Trades Technician Certified Pool Operator

The Certified Pool Operator is responsible for the overall maintenance and operation of two full size pools, and endless swimming pool, and after-hours pool events including weekend events. 

Essential Functions: 

•    Maintain water quality according to or above State standards including but not limited to:
     o    Required daily chemical checks, including weekends
     o    Addressing all water chemistry issues
     o    Backwashing filters
     o    Keep pump filter baskets clean
     o    Ensure chlorine pumps are functional and the lines clean
     o    Ensure chemical controllers are calibrated and functioning
     o    Maintain a vacuuming schedule for all bodies of water
•    Maintain a safe and clean pool deck area
     o    Inspect safety equipment for proper placement, serviceability, and expiration dates
•    Maintain a functional and organized pump room environment
     o    Pump room is kept clear of debris
     o    Materials are stocked, available, and in their labeled area
     o    Ensure the chemical room is up to code
     o    All chemical supplies are full and present including chlorine barrels
•    Work with the Aquatics Manager to consistently improve facility procedures and standards
•    Conduct routine maintenance such as electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, and preventative maintenance
•    Respond to after-hours emergencies
•    Performs other work-related duties as assigned
•    This position is considered essential

Minimum Qualifications:

•    Able to obtain a Certified Pool Operator (CPO) license within six months of employment
•    Basic electrical and plumbing knowledge
•    Basic carpentry and painting skills including
•    Basic tile and grout repair experience
•    Must be able to lift, move, and handle chemicals responsibly
•    Must be a team player
•    Decision making and judgement focused on safety, accident prevention, and high-quality guest experience

Preferred Qualifications:

•    Advanced skills in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and/or tile and grout repair
•    Qualified applicants will have a current Certified Pool Operators (CPO) license

Physical Demands:

•    Walk, sit stand, squat, and crawl
•    Lift in excess of 50 lbs
•    Sit and operate equipment in rough and finished terrain for long periods of time
•    Utilize hands and wrists with high dexterity to use all common hand and power tools
